Freeport - Marion “Mary” Louise Bockus, known by many as “Mother”, was granted her angel wings on April 24, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Mary had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life.
Mary’s life touched many. Her gentle smile, quick wit and loving nature brought so much joy to everyone around her. She made everyone feel like family. She was “Mother” to everyone that met her. Her strength, determination and dedication to her family was inspiring.
She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She could spend hours visiting with those she loved so much. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her children & grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, David Bockus of Freeport, ME; daughter Theresa Bisson of Portland, ME; son Brian Bisson and his wife Tiffany of Lisbon, ME; son Jean-Paul Bisson and his wife Dawn of Lisbon, ME; step-daughter Tammy Moody of Brunswick, ME; nine grandchildren: Joey, Kody, Cheyne, Jamie, Tyler, Dusty, Tess, Maddy, and Zack; sisters Kathy Alexander, Nona Stevens, Diane Stevens, and Christine O’Brien; brothers John Stevens, Ronald Stevens, Walter Green, Langdon Green, and Fred Green.
Funeral services will be held at Burr Cemetery in Freeport, ME on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Charles Tashima and all the staff at Parkview Oncology, as well as the doctors and nurses at Parkview Adventist Medical Center who have cared for Mary during her various stays during the past two years. Because of their hard work and dedication, they enabled us to have more time with “Mother”, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
