Bath - Annamaria L. Pellegrini passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Sunday, July 24.  Her parents were at her side.

Annamaria was born in Bath, Maine in 1962.  She was a proud member of the Morse High School Class of 1981.  Following graduation she attended Husson College and earned her Associates degree from Beal College.   Annamaria worked for a time at the BIW and then at Filenes and L.L. Bean.  She belonged to All Saints Parish and was a long time member of the Daughters of Isabella.  Though Annamaria was a life-long devotee of Bath, she eventually moved to Portland for work, where she made many friends.

Annamaria loved her family.  Her parents were always there for her, and she loved visiting her brother, sister-in-law, and nieces in Bangor.  Trips to Boston to visit her aunts, uncles, and cousins were always special, especially when they included a trip to Fenway to see her beloved Red Sox.  Annamaria was also a world traveler, making several trips to Italy and cruising the Caribbean.  For many years she was a snowbird, escaping Maine winters with her parents for sunny Florida.

For much of her adult life, Annamaria suffered from mental illness.  She was very brave in battling this terrible disease.  She had good days and not so good days, but always had the support of her family and community.  She persevered as best as she was able and enjoyed life and all its blessings.  She is now with her Heavenly Father and is at peace.

Annamaria is survived by her parents, Rosa and Fernando Pellegrini of Bath, and by her brother Anthony Pellegrini and sister-in-law Joan and her nieces Adriana, Amelia, and Olivia, all of Holden, Maine.  She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, and cousins from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, California, and Italy, and by her special friend Richard.

Visiting hours will be at Desmond Funeral Home at 638 High Street, Bath from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, July 28.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Church in Bath at 11:00am on Friday, July 29, 2016
