Brunswick - Dorina Poulin Morin of Hillside Rd, died at the age of 91 on Saturday, April 15, 2017. The daughter of Jean and Corinne Poulin, Dorina was born in Brunswick on September 19, 1925. She was the seventh of fourteen children. She attended Longfellow School, St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1945. Dorina met the love of her life, J. Roland Morin, a fellow student, at Brunswick High School. They were married at St. John's Church on May 15, 1948. Their first home was on Harpswell St. in Brunswick, and their second home was on Hillside Road where they resided for 63 years. They had ten children, Doriane, Raymond, Pauline “Polly”, Jean “Louis”, Patrick Roland (deceased at 6 months), Annette, Philip, Lucie, Patrick Arthur and George.

Dorina did bookkeeping for her father’s carpentry business, worked at W.T. Grant and First National Bank before working with her husband Roland as a bookkeeper for “Morin's Merry Ice Cream Wagon”, “The House Doctor” and their rental properties.

Dorina's faith kept her grounded and carried her through trying times. She was active in her parish volunteering with the original “Save our Steeple” event, which later became the annual St. John's Bazaar. As a member of St. John's Bazaar Committee, she was instrumental in getting cast members from the Maine State Music Theater to entertain at the Bazaar in its early years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Capital Campaign Committee. In 2000, Dorina was named the NCEA Catholic Elementary School Distinguished Graduate of that year. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren at St. John's School.

She and Roland were active members of Sage Swingers, and Gourmet Rounds, enjoying many years of square and round dancing. She was also a member of People's Plus.

Dorina took great pride in their home and family. She enjoyed spending a lot of time in their large vegetable and flower gardens. She was a woman of many talents, preserving a large supply of food for their family every year, involving the entire family in the process as well as sewing and knitting for her family. Dorina coordinated all her children's activities from teaching them to cook and clean, taking care of the farm animals, taking music lessons and practicing their instruments. She also ensured the family had a wonderful Christmas every year, making sure many a wish was granted.

Dorina shared her love of the outdoors with her children and loved traveling with her family and her husband. She enjoyed day trips close to home to Sebago Lake, the White Mountains or Acadia National Park. Later in life, she and Roland traveled from the east coast to the west coast visiting family and exploring scenic destinations.

Dorina was predeceased by her son Patrick Roland, her daughter Pauline Bartlett as well as her brothers Avenant, Jean Jr, Roland, her sisters Beatrice, Lorraine, Yvette, Rita, Lucille, Doris, and Cecile.
