Woolwich – Janice Louise Gallagher, 69, of Freeport and a longtime resident of Woolwich, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017.   She was born on August 31, 1947, the daughter of Ivan and Dora (Cooper) Jackson in Hartland, Maine.  She grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School, class of 1968.

In June of 1971, she married Bradley Gallagher.  The couple had one daughter, Julie and enjoyed many family camping trips along with many winter and summer Special Olympics their daughter competed in.  Janice always had a ready smile for anyone she met along with a big heart to help anyone who needed it.  She loved to crochet and knit along with teaching her daughter to do crafts and puzzles.

Janice was a homemaker, devoted mother and caregiver to her husband till he succumb to diabetes in November 2006.

She will be loving remembered and missed so much by her daughter Julie of Wiscasset; a sister, June Jones and her husband Kevin of Woolwich; along with nephews, great nephews, great nieces and cousins.

A special thank you to the staff at Freeport Nursing Home who have taken such good care of her while Janice was there.  Also Dr. Salko for his care and treatment.

A graveside service will be held with private services at a later date.
