Brunswick – Marie Anne Lapierre, 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her son’s home with her family by her side.  She was born in Brunswick, on July 26, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Eva (Menard) Thiboutot.  She grew up in Brunswick and attended St. John’s School. 

At an early age, Marie left school to help her family.  She was employed at Varney Mill for 13 years and G Brush Company until retiring in 1962. 

On June 19, 1943 Marie married her first love, Henry Lapierre and the couple resided in Brunswick to raise their family.  Henry passed away in August 2003, after celebrating 60 loving years of marriage.

Marie was a person with a warm heart.  She loved her family and always looked forward to visits with the grandchildren.  Her hobbies were knitting, painting and traveling with her friends. 

She was an active communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Order of Mary.  She was also a member of the American Legion #22.

Marie is predeceased by her husband, Henry; and her 3 brothers, Alphonse, George and robert.

Marie leaves behind her son, Albert Lapierre and his wife Phyllis of Topsham; grandchildren, Leslie Lapierre and her partner Dale Hodgdon of Topsham, Paul Lapierre of Topsham and his children, Alex, Emma Grace, & Aiden, Nicole Ruff and her husband Kevin of Topsham and their children, Ashley Hawkes, Morgan, Haven & Halie Ruff; and her great great grandchildren, Landon, Dominic & Michael Hawkes; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October20, 2016 from 11:30 – 12:30pm at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing Street, Brunswick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
