Bailey Island – Nancy Lee Murphy, 72, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born in Bath the daughter of Otis & Marie (York) McKenney on October 2, 1944.  She grew up in Phippsburg and graduated from Phippsburg schools.

On March 26, 1978 she married her soulmate, Weston Murphy and the couple made their home in Bailey Island.  They had 3 children, James, Kenneth & Linda. Nancy was very proud of her children, surrounding them with love & support.

Nancy enjoyed the outdoors, going out on the islands and up north to see the wildlife, her favorite would be moose.  She was the inspiration in our family and will be missed by all those that knew & loved her.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents; a son, Kenneth McKenney; and Aunt Launa J. Hersom and her grandmother, Etta York.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Wes Murphy; a son, James McKenney and his wife April; a daughter, Linda Hart and her husband Ted; a brother, Charles J McKenney and his wife Joan; grandchildren, Zachary McKenney, Meagan McKenney, Ashley McKenney, David McKenney, Casey McKenney; and several nieces, nephews & friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00am at Morningside Cemetery, Phippsburg. A Time of Fellowship will be held following the service at the Sebasco Nazarene Church, Sebasco.
