Richard Paul Sullivan (Sully) passed away on Wednesday, May 18th. Sully was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on May 29, 1941. He was the son of John Sullivan and Victoria Porusta. A graduate of Nashua High School, he attended New Hampshire Technical Institute and graduated with an Associates Degree. He was a member of the naval reserves for 18 years. He married Paulette Rogers in 1975. They later divorced. In 1984 he married Linda McKinney.

Sully was the consummate entrepreneur and enjoyed working in the many family businesses he and his wife Linda started and ran together. By far his favorite was the wood-and-coal burning stove business. He was a natural at sales and trained himself to install the line of Consolidated Dutchwest stoves they sold. His happiest times were getting on the road with a five-hundred pound stove in the back of his pick up and driving to northern Maine or southern New Hampshire.

Sully loved to sail and for many years he captained Sea Lady, plying the Maine coast. Sully was outgoing and always had a funny quip for every situation.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Woolwich, son Kevin of Canton, Massachusetts, son Paul and his wife Barbara of Norwood, Mass, sons John and Edward of Woolwich, brother John of Colebrook, NH and sister Carolyn of Nashua, NH, grandchildren Liam, Kyle, and Haley and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog Blue.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.

A Celebration of Sully’s life will be held in September of 2016
