Donna Jipson Morse

Phippsburg – Donna (Jipson) Morse, 68, of Phippsburg, passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with Sclerdoerma, on the morning of Wednesday, October 16, 2019, with her family by her side.  She was born in Bangor on March 19, 1951, the daughter of Ione Elise Jipson & stepfather Nelson Payne.  She grew up in Phippsburg graduating from Morse High School, class of 1970. 

Donna was employed as the head cook at Fisher Mitchell School with 25 years of service, retiring in 2011.

On July 10, 1971, at the Corliss Church, Donna married her best friend, Robert Morse and the couple made their home in Phippsburg to raise their family. 

Donna was a long time member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the many trips and talked often of the memories made with her Red Hat friends.  She was an avid seamstress, and took pride in making outfits for her children.  She also enjoyed spending the winters with her husband in Okeechobee, Florida, where she made many dear friends.  Donna was also a long time member of the Bath Senior Center. 

Donna was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Suzanne Payne.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert; sons, Daryl Morse and his wife Hajnalka of Columbia, South Carolina and Scott Morse and his wife Maria of Bremerton, Washington; grandchildren, Ronan & Anastasia of Columbia, S.C; brother, Dana Jipson and his wife Jane of Lincolnville; sisters, Sandra Ashcroft of Augusta, Maryann Squillace of Woolwich, Emily Ashton of Wiscasset and Wanda Thomas of Topsham.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:00pm at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath.  A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place following the service at Morningside Cemetery, Phippsburg.
