I just learned about the death of your loved one. Death hurts the living, no matter what relationship you had with the deceased. We often have questions that go unanswered, such as; "What's happening to my loved one? " "Can I help them in any way?" "Can they hurt or help me or my family?" "Can I communicate with them?" "Where can I find answers to these & other questions?"
I have found that the Bible has satisfying answers to my questions.
For example, go to your copy of the Bible and read Ecclesiastes 9:4,5,10. Would you not agree that these scriptures tell us that: (1) That the dead are unconscious & can't help or hurt us.
For more Bible information & answers to your question(s): Go to www.jw.org. Scroll down to the bottom of the page & select 'ANSWERS TO BIBLE QUESTIONS'. SELECT the question(s) that you want a Bible answer to.

My sincere condolences to the Bruce family. I worked as a nursing instructor with Eleanor at the helm of St Mary's School of Nursing for 10 years and enjoyed immensely the opportunity of working with and knowing her well. She was a kind and lovely lady in all respects and though I have not seen her in a number of years, I have thought of her with smiles and fond memories on many occasions. It was a privilege to know both Eleanor and her daughter Mary at SMGH. I remember fondly meeting many of the Bruce children and father, Bill as well. It is with heavy heart that I am just learning of her passing. May you all find peace in the memories you hold dear of this wonderful and gracious lady.

Dear Bill and family..how saddened we are to hear of the passing of the wonderful and lovely Eleanor. What fond memories our family has of our times in Bahama Palm Shores when the kids were younger. You were both always so kind and good to us. We had missed you at church most recently and you were on my mind. I pray for God's blessing and strength for you at this time. Rest peacefully Eleanor......

One of the kindest most caring people I have ever known. She was a beautiful woman who raised a wonderful family. I have many fond memories of her in the "cove" and my childhood. She will be missed dearly. Sending my love to the family. You are all in my thoughts.

Eleanor was the best neighbor and friend a person could ask for. She approached life with a twinkle in her eye and kindness in her heart. Our little cove is feeling the empty place she is leaving. So many memories:. Eleanor hosting huge family gatherings, playing the piano for singalongs, cooking Ben's favorite baked beans, gliding through the process of raising 6 wonderful children, hanging out on noodles in the middle of the cove on a hot summer day, watching her walk that hill out of the cove no matter how hard it got to be, patiently teaching us the finer points of playing mahjong, and bravely working hard to come back from all the set backs she suffered the past few years. She was a great mentor and a wonderful friend, and it's so hard to let her go. She was so deeply loved by her family and friends. My deepest sympathy to all of them. Having her in our lives was a blessing.

Although our permanent homes are less than thirty miles apart in Maine, we met Eleanor and Bill in Bahama Palm Shores in Abaco where we enjoyed their company immensely in our small winter community over the past ten years. Eleanor was always ready with a sincere warm greeting, as was Bill with his powder-dry sense of humor and sly grin. Eleanor was ever helpful to all of her neighbors and friends and was especially warm to the women who participated in frequent “women’s swim parties” in front of their cottage (they occasionally allowed men to swim, too) and to the women who gathered weekly at the “Mahjong Clubhouse” on the first floor of the Bruce’s cottage. It saddened all of us to witness Eleanor’s health travails in Abaco over the past few years, but we all marveled at her spunk and resilience in getting back to playing condition. Her many, many friends in Bahama Palm Shores will sadly miss Eleanor, but continue smiling when they think of how her warmth and spirit blessed their lives. Our condolences to the entire Bruce family as they mourn their loss while relishing her presence in their lives.

A closer friend could not be had!! My late wife, Judy(Summerton) and I treasured some of the best moments of our lives with Eleanor and Bill...and Bill had the best and most appreciative audience in the world for his colorful sense of humor..his wife Eleanor. Rest in peace,I know Judy and you are already trading the latest gossip!

Please accept my sympathy at Eleanor's passing. I was a Public health Nurse while she directed our Division with astuteness, compassion and humor. A beautiful gal, who was missed when she left and thought of often on her Caribbean Island.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Bruce's passing. As a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1981, I always found her to be kind, yet firm...just what we all needed. I was in Mary's class. I always respected Mrs. Bruce and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. May you all find peace in knowing she is your guardian Angel.

Dear Bruce Family, my sincerest condolences to your family. I remember how welcoming and kind Eleanor was to me when I would see her at family gatherings or showed up unannounced around dinner time with my brother, Jim. She treated everyone as part of the family! Much love to all, Stephanie

We want to express our deepest Sympathy to all the Bruce family at this time of your loss. We both attended Bliss College back in the early 70's when we believe Mrs. Bruce was an instructor there. Sandy had her for a teacher, and spoke very highly of her. I knew her through Sandy. She will be missed by all you as a family, as well as those who knew her as a teacher, an instructor at St. Mary's Nursing, later to return as the Assistant Director, followed by as Director. May God Bless you all at this time. Sandy, & Chet Bixby
