Brunswick – Gladice McDuff, 89 of Pejepscot Terrace passed into the open arms of Jesus on Friday October 11, 2019 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her by her loving family.
She was born in Madawaska on November 14, 1929 a daughter of Frank and Lottie Gendreau Lagasse. The family moved to Portsmouth and as a teenager she moved to Lewiston with her mother and siblings.
Gladice met the love of her life, Maurice at the Capital Café in Lewiston and six months later they were married at the St. Croix Catholic Church in Lewiston. They settled in Topsham where they raised their three children.
Things that she loved was spending time with her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed going to Thomas Point Beach and Popham Beach for picnics. Gladice was an avid reader and loved going to play bingo. She loved doing crafts, sewing, ceramics and puzzles.
Gladice and Maurice loved to travel around the State of Maine and as well as New Hampshire going to local fairs and to view the fall foliage.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by two sisters, Hilda Gueren and Gertrude Cloutier; and two brothers, Gilbert Lagasse and Paul Lagasse.
Survivng are her loving husband Maurice; three children, Janice McDuff Frost and her husband Gary Frost, Jim McDuff and companion Barbara Rollins, and Judy McDuff Johnson and her husband Stan Johnson; five grandchildren, Kyna Frost Micheletti and her husband Jeremy; Christopher Frost and his wife Cecilia, Shawn McDuff and his wife Becky, Mercedes Henke, and Emily Johnson; seven great grandchildren, Corbin, Cooper, Calvin, Timothy, Ava, Cally, and Lucas.
Visiting hours will be 2:00 to 4:00pm Wednesday Oct. 16th at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick where funeral services will follow at 4:00pm.
