Bowdoinham – Irene M. Ervine, 89, of Fisher Road, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at MidCoast Hospital with family by her side.  Born in Topsham on December 7, 1927, to Leonce and Dora (Lamay) Labbe, she attended St. Johns School in Brunswick and on November 22, 1952 married the late Edward “Tom” Ervine.

Irene worked all her life in manufacturing until retiring from Etonic Tretorn in Richmond.  After retiring she continued to be active with the Emblem Club in Brunswick the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed many years volunteering with the Santa Fund.  She always looked forward to her monthly lunches with her St. Johns classmates and Monday Bingo.  Irene was a parishioner of St. Johns Church in Brunswick where she attended mass regularly.

Irene is predeceased by her parents, husband, brother and two sisters. 

She is survived by 4 generations being blessed to have been the matriarch of five generations; her two daughters, Cheryl Pinkham and her husband and Kathleen Lanois and her husband both of Bowdoinham, three granddaughters; one great granddaughter and one great great granddaughter.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 – 12:00pm at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing Street, Brunswick.  A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home.  A private interment will be held at a later date.
