Phyllis Mae (Hayden) Tavano

YARMOUTH - Phyllis Mae Tavano, 86, of Yarmouth, passed away on Dec. 30, 2018, with family by her side.Phyllis was born to Harold and Nettie Hayden on August 17, 1932 in Yarmouth, and graduated from North Yarmouth Academy.

She was an avid quilter and made many beautiful quilts, pillows and potholders for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and going to bingo with her friends. Phyllis had an in home daycare and loved all the children she cared for as well as the close relationships she formed with their families.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years Carlo J. Tavano of Yarmouth; a daughter Patricia Tavano and husband David McLaughlin of North Yarmouth, sons Carl Tavano of Peru, N.Y. and the late Michael Tavano. She also leaves three grandchildren, Christopher White and wife Sarah of Bedford, Mass., Ian Tavano of Frederick, Md., Abigail Tavano of Peru, N.Y.; and a great-granddaughter Fiona White of Bedford, Mass. Phyllis also leaves two sisters and a brother, Arlene Morton of Yarmouth, Joanne Chandler of Kentucky and Edward Hayden of Portland; as well as many nieces, nephews, and daughter-in-law Alexis Tavano of Ayer, Mass.

A celebration of her life with family will be held at a later date.
