Brunswick - Yvonne Germaine Drolet died following a respiratory illness at Hawthorne House in Freeport, Maine, on January 5, 2018.  She was 91 years old.

Yvonne was born on February 13, 1926, to William and Marie Brillant in Topsham, Maine.  She attended high school in Brunswick and in April 1947 married the love of her life, Evans Drolet.  The couple lived in Topsham, where Evans worked in a textile mill and Yvonne, after also working at the mill, cared for children in her home.  Yvonne was a president of the Ladies of Sainte Anne at Saint John’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.  She was an avid knitter and vocal Red Sox fan.  In retirement, she was a president and member of the Evergreen Club in Brunswick and enjoyed time with her husband, siblings, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Donald Gower of Topsham; her daughter and daughter-in-law, Nancy Drolet and Lynn D’Agostino of Freeport; her sister Lucie Jean of Litchfield; her brother Lucien Brillant of Harpswell; her brother Robert Brillant of Topsham; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Evans; her son, Romain Drolet; and eleven siblings.

Visiting hours will be held at the Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing Street, Brunswick, on January 9, 2018, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church in Brunswick on January 10, 2018, at 11:00am.   Following the service, a 12:30 reception lunch will be held at China Rose Restaurant in Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mid Coast Hunger Prevention, in Yvonne’s memory.
