Alice Hopkins Obituary

Brunswick - Alice J Hopkins passed peacefully in her sleep February 1st, 2026 at the Garden Memory Unit of the Midcoast Sr. Health facility in Brunswick, Maine.
 Alice was born September 15, 1934 to Barclay and Susie Miller in Appleton, Maine.
Alice was a teacher all her career, teaching many kindergarten and first graders .  She often remarked how she loved it when she’d get a pupil whose parent she’d taught years before!
Alice was married previously to Donald Hamilton, a pastor, and they had two children, David and Deborah.
Alice was predeceased by her son  and first husband.
She married Donald ( Bud) Hopkins, on June 24, 1989.
They were a great team, both very devoted to God and their church, Corliss Street Baptist in Bath, ME.
They enjoyed 35 years together, most recently as residents at Thornton Oaks, enjoying many of the activities they offered there. Bud died February 4, 2025.
Alice leaves behind her daughter, Deborah, two grandsons, Robert Hamilton and Scott Hamilton, and her stepchildren , Lissa ( Hersom), Kimberly(Hopkins), Beth(Palmer), and Mark Hopkins, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are through Desmond Funeral Home in Bath.
There will be a June Celebration Of Life at graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, where both Alice and Bud will be interred at their plot.
