David Edward Leeman 89 years old passed away in his sleep at Sedgewood Commons on January 8, 2025.
He was born to Daniel and Marian Leeman on September 14, 1935.
He grew up in Falmouth, Maine with his four brothers and two sisters.
He graduated from Falmouth High School, joining the United States Air Force reaching the rank of Lt Col after twenty years of service. During that time he met and married Janice Bonham of Sacramento, California. They had two boys David Alan and Mark Wayne Leeman. The Air Force took the family to bases in Louisiana, Alaska and Okinawa Japan then moving to and retiring from Loring AFB in Limestone, Maine.
After retiring he moved his family to Freeport, Maine where he continued his education, receiving his degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern Maine.
He helped start Vessel Services on the Portland waterfront, retiring as president at age 70.
In retirement Dave and Jan purchased an RV and became snow birds for the next five years, visiting family and retired Air Force friends around the country.
Dave will be missed by his loving wife Jan, his sons David and his wife Carolyn of Worcester, MA, grandson Andrew, granddaughter Kathryn, Mark and his wife Jennifer of Phippsburg, granddaughters Kristen, Lauren and Shelby, brothers Daniel, Larry and Joel, Peter, sister Carol and their families as well many great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by brother Gerald and sister Joan.
