Jerry Omar Dorr

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Omar Dorr, a loving husband, a great father, and a wonderful Papa. He loved the Lord, his wife, and his family. He departed from this world peacefully on June 6th, 2024, at the age of 88.

Born on August 27th, 1935, in Los Angeles California and raised as a child in the Pinto Valley of the New York Mountains in the Mojave Desert, California and Riverside, California.

Jerry was in the Navy for 20 years and retired out of Quonset Point, Rhode Island in 1973 (AOCS E-8 Ordnance Mechanics).

He owned Dorr’s Quality Service – small engine and tool repairs in Bath, Maine and was a Jack of all trades!

Jerry’s greatest joy came from his family. He was the devoted husband of Jane Marie (Scanlon) Dorr for 68+ years, a loving father to Marianne Rice and husband Ed, Lauretta Gladding, Kathleen Moniz and husband Dana, Jerry Dorr (deceased), Patrick Dorr (deceased) and wife Jaye, Kelly Wyman and husband Barry (deceased), Maria Kenyon and husband Jim, and Michael Dorr and wife Jamie.

He was Papa to 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great, great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Omar Dorr and his mother Anne (Alexander) Dorr.

There are individuals whose wisdom and insight leave an indelible mark on all who have the privilege of knowing them. A wise man, a person whose profound understanding, compassion, and guidance shaped the lives of many and enriched our world immeasurably. This is Jerry Dorr. Husband, Father, and Papa.
