Georgetown – Julius Raymond Blanchard passed away on July 18, 2025 after succumbing to cancer. He was born on October 28th 1950 in Gloversville, NY, the son of Charles and Daisy (Cox) Blanchard. He joined the United States Marines Corp during the Vietnam War and was deployed there. After his service, he was employed as a machinist at the General Electric in Schenectady, NY before moving to Maine in 1982 where he was employed as a machinist in BIW until retiring in 2013.
In his home life he was a jack of all trades and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Pamela of 51 years; a daughter, Catherine (Donald) Curtis, West Bath, ME; sons, Thomas Blanchard, New Vineyard, NY, Stephen Blanchard (Sara Bokian), South Portland, ME his sister, Ruth (John) Gardener of Gloversville, NY; a sister-in-law, Nancy Blanchard of Johnstown, NY; and 8 grandchildren. Also surviving are his extended family, Nancy Peck of NY, Susan OrCutt of NY, Jennifer Garren of FL, Michael (Ying) Peck of Thailand, Allison (Keith) Wehri of CA, Kelly (Michael) Bon of TN, Matthew Peck of ME, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
