M. Louise (Caouette) O'Shei

Topsham, ME – M. Louise (Caouette) O’Shei, 75, passed away after an illness on July 14, 2022. 

Louise was the daughter of Joseph A. Caouette and Doris Blanche (Brillant) Caouette. With exception of her birth in Brunswick and some time when her husband was stationed in Hawaii, Louise was a lifelong resident of A Street in Topsham.

Louise graduated from Brunswick High School in 1964.  She was devoted to her high school classmates and spent many happy hours planning and attending class reunions throughout her life.

After high school, Louise went to work as a secretary at the Topsham SAGE Air Force Station.  Louise met her future husband and the love of her life, Gerald (“Jerry”) L. O’Shei, at the base and they were married in 1967.  Jerry was transferred to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and Louise went with him and worked as a secretary there.  After Jerry left United States Air Force they returned to Topsham.

Louise was predeceased by her husband, both of her parents, and her step-son Stephen O’Shei.   She is survived by her son, Kevin O’Shei, his wife Jessica, and grandchildren Samantha and Collin – both of whom meant the world to her.  She loved rocking babies and being a grandmother.  She is also survived by her brother, Roger Caouette and his wife, Judy and Louise’s stepchildren Karen O’Shei and Holland Thomas.  She is also fondly remembered by her niece Carol Waltz, Carol’s husband Mark and children Andrew and Ben, her niece Linda Johnston, Linda’s husband Mark and children Caleb and Julian, and nephew Joseph Caouette and Joseph’s wife Paula, and children Meghan and Zachary.

There will be a graveside service at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta on August 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
