We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Butch Theberge on March 24, 2026. He was born in Brunswick, ME, the son of Charles and Cecile Theberge and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1963. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served for 21 years, retiring as a CWO-3.
Butch was known for always having a story to share, whether it was from his dedicated years in the military or his adventures in life. He had a big personality, and he connected with everyone he met wherever he went. His service shaped his character, and he carried that pride with him every day. Throughout his life, he was known for his love of family, his dedication to service, his passion for travel and everyday moments - he especially looked forward to the Friday morning gatherings with the 'Outlaws.'
Butch is survived by his wife of 59 yrs, Jeanne, daughter Hope Dvorak & husband Frederick, son Darren Buddy Theberge, 2 grandsons Brandon Marcel Dvorak and Hunter Madison Dvorak, 2 sisters Nancy Handley and Connie White, extended family along with several nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a veteran organization, such as the Wounded Warrior Project or the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, in his honor.
Butch will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a date to be determined. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the next several weeks.
