Marie Rochon Obituary

Florida- Jeanne was born in Howland, Maine to the late Edward “Pat” and Delina Langlais, one of six children. At the age of five, the family moved to Brunswick, Maine. Jeanne graduated from Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine as a Medical Technologist and spent over 30 years in the profession that she had chosen as a teenager. She married her beloved husband Roy in 1958 and together they raised three children in Rhode Island, Florida, and Connecticut. In 1992, she retired from the state of Connecticut, moving to Palm Bay shortly thereafter. Once in Palm Bay, she became a successful realtor in her second career but eventually decided to fully retire so that she and Roy could travel the country in their RV.

Jeanne was very active in community affairs in Palm Bay, including NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees), The Little Rhody Club, The Maine Connection, and the Greater Palm Bay Senior Center, among others, and was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay.

She loved traveling, dancing, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She was always ready with a warm hug, an infectious laugh, and a twinkle in her eye, especially where her precious grandchildren were concerned.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 62 years and 11 months, Roy; her beloved daughter, Michelle Wahlquist of Milford, Connecticut; her beloved son, Raymond Rochon of Seymour, Connecticut; her dearest grandchildren: SFC Brett Rochon, US Army (Nicole) of Fort Polk, Louisiana, Jessica Wahlquist (Daniel Zhao) of Melrose, Massachusetts and Keene, New Hampshire, SGT Justin Rochon, US Army (Destiny’ann) of Fort Drum, New York, Jay Viellette of Shelton, Connecticut; and four very special great-grandchildren: Matthew and Nolan Rochon, Aubrey Battaglino, and Colton Rochon. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Emelda Bonang of Brunswick, Maine; her brother, Reginald and loving sister-in-law Suzanne Langlais of Saco, Maine; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Steven; her brother, Fern; sisters, Madeline and Rose; and her brother-in-law, Alden.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff of the William Childs Hospice House who provided extraordinarily dignified and personal care to Jeanne.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 10:00 am at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
