Woolwich - Michael Dawson Ahalt II 65, died on February 4, 2023, after a three-year battle with cancer. He died at his home in Woolwich, Maine with his dog, Josie at his side. He was born on May 7, 1957, the son of Beverly Ann Dearing and Michael Dawson Ahalt who both predeceased him.
He is survived by his stepson Kyle Taylor of Boothbay Maine, who was the best son he could ever wish for and his good friend Michael Carlton. Both of whom took care of him during his sickness and the family is forever grateful to them. He is also survived by his three sisters, Sheila Rutledge of Menifee, CA, Michelle Cain of Donaldsonville, GA and Kathy Eliassen of Bath, ME. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews including his niece Shelley Eliassen who stood by him and was a great support to him.
Michael helped raise his step granddaughter, Skylar Stickney of Brunswick, Maine. He loved her with all his heart and was so proud to have her in his life. Michael grew up on the Kennebec River and while growing up, he loved climbing around the rocky shore and eventually taking his first boat out on the river. He loved the Kennebec River and spent most of his life on the river. He ran his own business trapping eels. He also had a bait and shop in Woolwich. His other passion was riding his Harley Davidson everywhere he went. Toward the end of his life, he dreamed about reuniting with his sisters and having one last time together. Unfortunately, cancer took him before that dream could become a reality. There will be a graveside service on May 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery, L West Lot # 438.
