Obituary

Bath – Richard Earle Hamilton, age 61, of Floral Street in Bath, died August 9th, 2023 @ Augusta General surrounded by family.

He was born at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick, Maine.  His parents are Ronald and Rachel Hamilton.  Richard was a craftsman of his trade in Automotive Technology.  Richard loved to drive around visiting the town locals and helping out the elderly at the Sea Cliff in Bath when he had a chance.

At the age of 18 Richard entered the United States Military to become a tank mechanic and a sergeant in the Army.  It was there he started his military jo8rney where he went to many different places and enjoyed the different foods he encountered.  He always had a wonderful passion for food.  You could give him bare rations and he could make the most delicious meals like roasted steak with potatoes and brussel sprouts.  He was a very active person right up till the moment he passed away always taking care of his health and physical wellbeing.  He was Opa to anyone who knew him.

On August 6th, 2016 Richard married the love of his life Yvonne Annette Hamilton.  During their marriage they always loved to go on adventures, visiting his parents and staying up late watching different series of T.V. shows.  I still always remember out phone conversations where he would do check-ins to see how his grandkids were doing.  The quick I have phone ear after 15 minutes of the call then he would ring off till the next time.  He always had a great sense of humor during football season.  He was an avid watcher of every Patriots game.  He loved having his grandchildren over to teach them life lessons he learned as a sergeant in the Army How to cook & Torque a wrench.  He always had fur babies at his feet (Molluy & Buggy).  His always was showing and shining his Elcamino and showing its wonder luster of candy apple red color.  One of his proudest items he worked on to date.

Richard was survived by his wife, Yvonne Hamilton of Bath; his father & mother, Ronald & Rachel Hamilton of Oxford; his siblings, Ginny Hamilton Hesketh, Suzanne Hamilton, Lance Hamilton, Ronald Hamilton & Christine Truman; his step-children, Tabitha Bishop, Paul & Mary Bishop & Raymond and April Todd, 5 Grandchidlren and multiple nieces and nephews.
