We are very sorry for your loss. After reading about Romain, I can see where his light shines in his daughter Rebecca. Rest In Peace, Romain, and know your children and grandchildren are preserving your legacy and love of reading and lively debates.

How lucky I was to have known your Dad. We became good buddies at the PP World Affairs Conversation group. His presence and contributions there were always so intelligent, timely and evidenced a keen and curious mind. But his sparkling eyes, smile and sense of humor were the best gift.

Although we went years between visits, I always had a special place in my heart for Uncle Romain. Maybe it was his friendly smile and demeanor, or his clever conversation, or maybe his resemblance to my Dad, his brother, Don. Whatever the reason, I am very saddened with his passing. As I'm in Florida, I regret I will not be able to attend his service but Linda will. My dearest sympathies...

I knew Romain mainly through activities at People Plus. He was the one alsways with the smile on his face and something interesting to say. He also had the outgoing personality which drew you into him which made me think that he would never leave us. The family has my deepest condolences.

Your dad was a very, very special person to me. I'm the one who worked with him on moving to The Highlands, but we were good friends before that. We talked about St. John's, about his knowledge of Topsham Heights and how he would gladly set people straight on that! His devotion to your mom was so strong, as was his honesty, and his willingness to reach out to others. When I lost my job, he was one of the first to call me, and I never forgot that. I wish I could have done more for him, and for you especially at the end. He will always be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Your Dad was a fine man. I knew him from Camp Keyes, and he never failed to stop by to visit with me when he came to "the Hill". He would always ask how my horse was, where I had been riding, how he made it through the winter, etc. We would also discuss the state of the world, country, and he would leave me with a suggestion of a good book to read - which I would do. My condolences to your family.

Your dad will always hold a special place in my heart. His humor and good nature was a steady in the neighborhood ! The fun and funny memories of him, and your mom, are a fixture of my childhood recall... I can't reminisce Hennessey Ave without them! I know he loved you all very much as you did him... and know he will be missed by many.
Much love,
Sherrie

Your Dad was a frequent "Pop In" visitor to my husband when he was confined to the house during his later years. His cheerful greetings and smiles were always a time of joy for us...He was a special person to many...
