Topsham - Susan Kari Pettersen passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, at the age of 57. She was born on February 13, 1967, to Rudolph John Pettersen and Dorothy Lechich Pettersen.
She is survived by her mother, Dot, her brother, Kenneth Pettersen, her sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and David Miller, and her children, Christopher Pettersen, Michaela Pettersen, and Sarah Davison, who was adopted by a wonderful family as a baby and reunited with Susan when Sarah was 18.
Susan maintained an optimistic view of her future, despite struggling with mental illness for over 40 years. She was bright and witty, and had an exceptional memory, recounting friends, family, and events throughout her life. In her youth, she was an accomplished athlete, competing in gymnastics and excelling in skiing. Susan was very proud of Christopher’s musical talents and Michaela’s achievements in academics and sports. She loved to travel, finally making it to Alaska last year, despite her dependence on dialysis, to visit her sister.
Susan’s family would like to thank the staff of Waterfall Place for their exceptional care and the genuine love they showed to Susan the final years of her life.
A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2024, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, 144 Lincoln Street, Bath, with a reception downstairs to follow.
