He was honorably discharged as Corporal on November 19, 1946.

Wilfred married Marie (Cecile) Bergeron in 1963. They moved from Connecticut to Pemaquid Beach, Maine, in 1966, where they owned and ran The Village Market General Store for 2 years. They then moved to Woolwich, Maine, and started a home building company, Baxter and Dube Homebuilders.  Wilfred enjoyed his retirement by moving with Cecile to Florida in 1978, residing in Holiday and the Daytona area. They enjoyed many travels. More recently, they returned to live in New Hampshire and
eventually back to Brunswick, Maine, to be near Cecile’s family.
He is survived by his son, Carl W. Baxter and his wife Cynthia of Bow, New Hampshire; three
grandchildren, Matthew Baxter and his wife Eva of Sag Harbor, New York, Christopher Baxter and his
