Anna M. Grace, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017.  She was born on December 13, 1926, the daughter of Alice Baxter and Herbert Merrill in Arlington, Ma.  Attended schools in MA moving to Bath in 1941.  She is a graduate of Morse high School, class of 1944.

On August 11, 1945 Anna married Joseph A. Grace and they made their home in Bath. Mr. Grace died March 3, 1997.

Anna was active in Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and was past president of the Bath Emblem Club.  She helped direct the Junior Choir at Grace Episcopal Church and was clerk of the Church Vestry.  She was also a member of the choir at Grace Church for over 70 years.

Anna worked at Bath Memorial Hospital for 25 years as a secretary to the Administrator and was the billing manager for Coastal Neurological Services from 1985 until retiring.   Anna also was a member of the BMH Auxiliary and served as Secretary.  She also was a member of the Bath Country Club and served as President and Secretary of the Women’s Golf Association. 

Anna is predeceased by her husband and 2 sisters, Priscilla Brady & Charlotte Gorman

She is survived by 3 children, Sandra Beck and Nancy and her husband Theodore Chambers both of Arizona and Michael and his wife Peggy Grace of Norway, Me.; 4 grandsons, Daniel and Stephen Chambers and Joseph and Joshua Grace; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Mom’s heart has always belonged to the church, so the family has requested, if you would like to make a memorial donation in Anna’s name, please make those to Grace Episcopal Church, 1100 Washington Street, Bath, Maine 04530. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00am at the Grace Episcopal Church, 1100 Washington Street, Bath.
