Bath - Carolyn E. (Stackpole) Owens, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning April 24, 2016. Born the daughter of Charles S. Stackpole and Florence M. Stackpole Hart on May 14, 1933 in Brunswick, Maine. She attended Bath Schools graduating from Morse High School class of 1951. Carolyn then served in the United States Air Force from November 1952 until August 1954. Upon graduating from the Maine School of Practical Nursing in 1973 she was employed as an LPN by Winship Green Nursing Center retiring after 24 years in 1998. After retiring she developed a passion for world travel and also became a volunteer at the Mid Coast Hospital and the Maine Maritime Museum.

Carolyn "Gramma" enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and spending time with family, as well as volunteering and crafts. She really enjoyed sharing the stories of her travels to Alaska, Italy, Holland and the Netherlands, attending both The Rose Bowl and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and especially going through the Panama Canal. Always making sure to bring back souvenirs for her family and adding a Beanie Baby or two to her collection.

Carolyn was predeceased by her eldest grandson James P. Owens in 2003.

She is survived by her four children Charles R.Owens and his wife Mary and James R. Owens both of Brunswick, and Cheryl A. Ross, and Susan M. Snell and her husband Leo Snell all of Bath. Also by nine adult grandchildren and their families, Christie Owens, Jason Ross, Jonathan Ross, Mathew Snell, Blake Snell, Steven Snell, Jennifer Lee, Andrew Legere, Michael Legere and 6 Great Grandchildren.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street in Bath on Thursday, April 28th 2016 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath Maine.
