I went to school with Heather at Georges Valley and Jeanne and I were classmates. I am very grateful that I was able to see Heather not too very long ago when our children went through first communion together... I am so very sorry to hear of your family's loss, Jeanne, and am keeping you and Katie and Heather's family in my thoughts and prayers.

To Garett and Jeanne:
I was saddened to read of Heather's passing, and am deeply sorry for your loss. Though I only met and knew Heather briefly, I know how much you both loved and cared for her.  I had hoped she would win.  My thoughts and prayers are with you both, and all of her family.
With deepest sympathy,
Vicki

Dearest Garrett, Edward, Kerry, Reilly and Cort,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Kids, I have had the pleasure of seeing you all grow from a very young age. I so much enjoyed knowing your mom. She was always quick to laugh and loved to brag about each one of you. I know how much she loved you and how proud she was of you all. It has been a while since any of you have attended school with us, but I saw your mom on occasion around town and every time she had a great story to share with me about each of you. Just remember that she will always be with you and she has touched everyone she knew in a lovely and generous way. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. With love, Mrs. Gilbody

I met and became fond of Heather through our contact at the Freeport Community Library where I'm employed.  Heather literally consumed books ;-) and was loads of fun to chat with when she came in for her new supply of reading material.  I will miss her visits and vibrant, radiant personality so very much.   To honor Heather here's a quote from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis:

"Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again."

Heather was my first grade teacher back in 1996. I have very fond memories of that year, and so many of them are a reflection of the kindness, passion and youthful energy that she brought to the classroom every day. She remains one of my most memorable and favorite teachers. I am now a first grade teacher, myself, and carry her example with me as I attempt to influence the next generation in the same way she did mine.

Thank you, Mrs. Lefebvre. You will always be remembered by the many young lives you touched.

My thoughts are with Heather's family and friends at this time, and I hope the knowledge of her lasting legacy brings comfort.

My sister Laura and I are so very sorry to hear of such a great loss.  We lived nearly next to each other during our elementary school years.  We hung out every day pushing each other up and down Maine Street in Thomaston on our Big Wheel and coloring into the evening until her mom would call looking for her and Ginny to come home. Although so long ago, it seems like yesterday.  I had an opportunity to catch up with her during a football game in Freeport a few years ago and it brought back so many joyful memories.  Rest in peace Heather, I know you are watching over your family and feel their love!

I am so sorry to hear about Heather's passing. I met Heather on a message board about 12 years ago when my twins were babies. She was so helpful, funny, and supportive. She wrote non-stop about the love of her husband and her four children. Many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting her when my cousin and I were in Portland. Cort was a baby during that time and she absolutely adored being with him. We had lunch, and it was nice to finally meet her in person. She was warm and vibrant and so easy to be around.

My heart goes out to your family and to all who knew her. I wish you all peace in the coming weeks, months, and years ahead.

To Cort and your family,

When I remember your mom I remember her smiles, her positivity, her creativity.  You could see how much she loved you and her family and how she showed that love in so many ways.  She helped you to become the kind and wonderful boy that you are and a good friend to my son.  I will always thank her for that.

You are in our thoughts.

Heather was my best friend for over 35 years.  She taught me how to be a friend... and was always there for me.  I love her with all my heart... as well as her wonderful family.  There was never a conversation with her where she wasn't talking about her kids.  I'll carry you in my heart forever. <3

Heather was such a wonderful and vivacious person. She and another mother stepped up to co-lead my daughter's Girl Scout troop when I couldn't continue, and made that troop stronger and better--a model of what Scouting should be. She had a positive impact on every girl in that troop, and reached out to support me when I needed it. Her girls are just as packed with personality and intelligence as she was. I'm proud to have known you, Heather.
