I will miss you my dear friend. Our "girl talks" were very meaningful to me and you taught me much about living a meaningful life. However, our "conversations" will continue for the rest of my life. Love you.

We neglected to mention in her obituary her visit to Haiti which prompted a lifelong interest and love of the people of that country. She was also fascinated by space and all things accomplished and published by NASA. She found great peace at the sea with a great fondness for Mackeral Cove which she was able to visit a few weeks before her death. We would love to hear more memories of our mother that others might have, and please don't hesitate to add more pictures. Thank you.

Joan was a unique soul. There was no one like her. Her lust for life was unquenchable, her temper was indomitable - consistently upbeat no matter what circumstances life threw at her. She did not merely enjoy life, she embraced it with a passion, and she was oh so much fun to be with.
