Brunswick- L. Robert Burgess passed away peacefully on Monday Oct 24 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, from complications of internal Disease. He was 81 years old. Robert was born May 9, 1935 in Brunswick, Maine.

Robert grew up in Brunswick where he attended Brunswick High School. He left High School early and enlisted in the United States Army & proudly served his country. When Bob returned from his tour in Germany, he went to work for Bath Iron Works retiring after 40 plus years of service. Having a hard time settling into retiremnet, he went to work as the custodian for ST. John's Catholic School.

On June 26th, 1958 Robert married his best friend, Pauline Fortin, who recently passed away on Sept 16, 2016. The couple, now together forever, will share eternal love & happiness.

Bob is also predeceased by his parents and a brother, John Burgess of Brunswick.

 He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, a sister in law Yvette and her husband Colby Sanborn of Waterboro, sister in law Nancy Fortin of Fruitland Park, Florida, sister in law Dot Burgess of Brunswick.

Visiting hours will be held 11:30-12:30 on Thursday Oct 27, at Demers Desmond Funeral Home 34 Cushing St, Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visiting at 1:00pm at St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St, Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made in Bob's memory to St. John's Catholic School, 37 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.
