Barbara and all the family...Sam always referred to Russell affectionately as "Uncle Russell". Russell was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. His smile and great sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was a very caring person and always took the time to ask "how you doing". He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Russell

As a police cadet in Bath in 1983, Russel was an inspiration to me. He always exemplified what an officer should be: courageous, compassionate, and empathetic. Russel was well liked by everyone in Bath for his good nature and fairness.

We're so sorry to hear of Russell's passing. I remember him fondly from my childhood and how he'd tease me (like his brother, Richie, an Alexander trait), always with a twinkle and a giggle. Sincere sympathy.

Dear Doreen, Your Dad was one of the best people I have ever known. He loved everybody. And he always had a smile. Not to mention all the breaks he gave people to find that positive human side of themselves. He will be missed by many.

Russell always had a smile and a big "Hello" when we met him. Tom remembers the time Russell gave Tom an Atomic hot ball to eat just before a Selectman's meeting and it was so hot that Tom thought his throat was burned. Tom was a Selectman at the time so he had to talk and his mouth was on fire from the candy. Russell was Police Chief at the time and he sat in the audience and laughed at Tom. We still smile when we remember that time. Russell was a wonderful person and friend. Sorry for your loss

Russ was not only the best cop I have known...but one of the best men I have ever known. He cared about kids when he was on the "beat'...he would talk hours on end with troubled teens....he always had an ear. And his courage was legendary...he took a gun away from a man who shot his partner...in his early career. He would have been within his rights to shoot the perpetrator...but he didn't. He told me once..."A good cop carries a Badge...A bad cop the Badge carries him. We all know what kind of cop and man Russ was. Rest in Peace my friend.

Dear Family, I met your dad years ago and had the distinct pleasure of traveling with him and the Alexander's multiple times to Moosehead Lake . I will never forget his wonderful spirit and how he made me feel. He was always so kind, so true and so loving. I will always remember his huge smile and laugh as he rode in the front seat beside Kevin, drinking coffee, hunting for moose and using his faithful slingshot! He was so funny and his humor was contagious! The time spent with him was a gift and validated that true, honest, good people still exist in our world. I'm so sorry for your loss but his memory will certainly live on! Love to all of you in the days ahead!

I am so sorry for your loss, Russell was a great guy always good natured and very caring, when we saw each other there was always a moment between us, his rookie year on the bath police he got a call to 22 Franklin street in bath, my mom was in labor and Russell showed up and tried to calm her and tell her the ambulance is on its way, my sister and I were told to stay out of the room but we peeked in any ways, long story short my sister Kelly was not waiting for the ambulance to be born, Russell ended up,delivering her, we always shared a look a bond because of this, he was a hero to me as a kid and has always been a hero in my mind ever since, blessings and prayers love Pamela mixer and family xoxo
