In choosing a stone, 

1. first you must decide on an upright or a flat marker 

2. second, you must chose a color.

3. third, in choosing an upright, you must choose a style. 

a. contours and moldings: flat top, serpentine, oval, apex top, ridge top, gothic top, 

b. Did you want a special carved shape to your stone? (see examples) 

4. Design your stone. Choose some of their art work or create your own.
