Woolwich – Carol L. Guerette of Middle road passed away peacefully, Friday, December 9, 2016, at 9:16pm on her 85th birthday. She was the daughter of Leroy and Nulita Brown of Conway, NH. She attended Brunswick schools and graduated Valedictorian of her class at Kennett High School in NH.

On December 2, 1950, she married the love of her life, John M. Guerette and the couple resided in Bath and raised their 4 children. Carol was involved in Boy Scout & Girl Scouts in Bath before moving to Woolwich in 1973.

Carol pursued her education culminating with a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from Clarion University in PA. She and John entered the Peace Corps in the early 80’s, serving in Belize where she established the foundation of a library using the Dewey Decimal System.

In later years her greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and her great grandchild.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and a sister, “Peggy” Eby.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John M Guerette; sons, Andrew and his wife Patricia of North Bath, John D and his wife Sherry of Dresden; daughters, Patricia Hay of Brunswick and Janice Hill and her husband Don also of Brunswick; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Bell of NH, sisters-in-law, Jackie Guerette of Va and Leanna Burnham of Kennebunk; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church, Lincoln Street, Bath with a reception to follow at St. Mary's.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woolwich Central School Library or to All Saints Parish, C/O St. Mary’s funeral committee.
