Carolyn Thompson Lemont, 85, of West Bath passed away on April 5, 2016 in Bath, Maine after three years of health challenges which she faced courageously with strength, a sense of humor and a determination to overcome.

She was born on August 14th, 1930 in Montpelier, VT to Richard I. and Mabel Wilson Thompson, and grew up in Springfield, MA, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and Bath.

She was a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School and attended Westbrook Junior College in Portland prior to her marriage to Paul Lemont.  They settled in West Bath where they raised their four children.

She was employed for several years as a Service representative for New England telephone Company in Bath, formerly served as Town Clerk for the Tow of West Bath, and was an elegant presence on the Executive floor of Bath Iron Works where she was Receptionist for many years prior to her retirement in 1996.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul Lemont, Sr. (1982) and her son Richard Lemont (2006).

She is survived by son Paul, Jr. (Suzanne), daughter, Rebecca (William Leeman, Sr.), son, Jeffrey, daughter-in-law, Mary Jane (Richard), brother, Richard Thompson (Alice), sister-in-law, Elaine (J. Bazin), seven grandchildren, Julie Bemis, William Leeman, Jr., Michelle Do, Eric Lemont, Brian Lemont, Michael Lemont and Stephen Lemont and seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia and Jack Bemis, Christopher, Alexander and Sophia Carolyn Do, and Bennett Lemont as well as a niece, several nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Benton, Teresa Sirois, Anna Wood and the staff of Maine Center for Cancer Medicine; Dr. Ira Bird of Mid Coast Hospital and all the healthcare professionals who became part of our family’s support system over the past three years.  Thank you for the loving care you provided her.
